W Korea: Run to You

Run On by Im Siwan and Shin Se Kyung is one of the Korean dramas from JTBC I’m really enjoying recently. It also stars Choi Soo Young and Kang Tae Oh, who I think should also have their own separate magazine photoshoot because they also made a lovely visual on-screen couples.

The show is true and true a rom-com; however, the few things that stood out from the atypical rom-com are the super quirky dialogues; the set-up of the characters and the actors who played and delivered those lines.

Personally the highlight, the star of Run On had to be Siwan’s portrayal of Ki Seon Gyeom. It isn’t a character easy to play but Siwan has the advantage with the image and the physical looks which allows him to portray the innocence, naviete and aloofness required for the character. He then added the rest with his skilled acting — the behaviour and demeanor and the way he delivers Seon Gyeom’s lines and even down to the tones. And there we have it, the Ki Seon Gyeom that everyone finds it difficult to figure out since episode 1. LOL.

Shin Se Kyung, Choi Soo Young and Kang Tae Oh are the rest of the main characters that are just as precious as Siwan in giving us the Run On we now see.
