53rd Baeksang Arts Awards

Snap! Here are our 53th Baeksang Art Award winners.

Frankly, it was the most boring Baeksang I had seen. I get bored from time to time watching these award shows because of the language barrier; however, this year’s Baeksang was boredom on a whole new level. It began at the red carpet where not one single star *wow* the floor. The dresses were all a big MEH.

I was contemplating of quitting the live streaming if it were not of Park Bo Gum with his little *BLUR* but cute stunt, and later the three crabs moves. After this, the show did get a little bit more interesting since it was time to announce the Best Actor and Actress awards.

53th Baeksang Arts Awards Nominees

The vicious cycle starts again with 53th Baeksang Art Awards as they recently release the nomination lists. Almost every year I go on a rampage at the results for South Korea’s Award Shows, but I can’t ignore because I am a sucker for seeing stars dressing up prettily on the red carpet. I love seeing biases or drama couples I adore reunite and appear together for their nominated projects. This year’s Baeksang is as highly anticipated as 2014’s when I was infatuated with You Who Came From the Star.

Let’s take a look at the nominees for this year. I have chosen my winners in light blue, hehe.

Goblin to Release 2-CDs OST on Feb 25

How awesome was episode 13 of Goblin last week despite having us bawling along with Eun Tak? Pretty awesome how the story turned out in my opinion. As we reach the near end of the drama, so are the soundtracks. To end with a bang, tvN is releasing the Original Sountrack that consist not only the already released OST singles, it is also including the background music / themes from the drama. In total, we will get 16 tracks in the album. Hmm, what’s new? Wait, of course there is more!

Original Soundtrack: Goblin

Goblin (also known as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God) has really attractive OSTs ever since it first aired. The songs are the kind that you will immediately find it pleasant to the ears and they are well used as BGM in boosting the atmosphere or emotion of a scene.

My current favourites are Stay with Me and Beautiful, and I’ve found some lovely piano covers too (page 2).  ❤

InStyle & Stars Shining Moment

page

Looks like InStyle has gone all out for their July issue; covering and capturing all the shining star moment from Baeksang. I am absolutely loving what I am seeing, and it’s not just because Park Bo Gum is in it, but also our Answer Me 1988 Ssangmundong chingu, as well as all other big shots / winners that night.

There are definitely moreeee pretty pictures of the stars, but I think we will need to buy the magazine if we want to see more. Right now let’s look at what has been publicized by InStyle as a teaser…

Last night I was adamant I won’t waste my time blogging on 52nd Baeksang Awards, but now that I saw these pretty pictures in HD, especially of the actors I admire, I succumb. I won’t be sharing the list of the winners, because that will only give me high blood pressure again. Instead, I am taking this as an excuse for all the busy Ssangmundong kids and parents to find time for a small reunion. And I am sure those who is truly interested knows where to find the list e.g. Google.

Without further ado, let us all go behind the scenes of these glamorous stars’ wardrobes for the night.

Kim Go Eun Poses for InStyle

73102-390305

Kim Go Eun — the face of February’s InStyle magazine. I wonder how many people know this actress? Her filmography is super-short for drama, with Cheese in the Trap being her first. Her experience in acting is not very long either, as she only debuted in 2012 in a movie called A Muse, having no other acting experience prior to that, and according to our trusted Wikipedia, she has already caused a bit of a media buzz in her first acting role.

I first knew her from Coin Locker Girl (also known as Chinatown), having watch the movie out of boredom, and for Park Bo Gum (I think?). Little did I know I walk away with something more, even though I did not particularly enjoy that movie. When it ended, I still vividly remember my reaction i.e. WTF? and wonder what is the whole point of the show. Kim Go Eun was the female lead, the movie sucks, but her strong presence left a lasting impression on me. I did not like the movie, but I like her performances.
