My Drama Land is experiencing a bit of drought again. Most biases have completed their projects, and some are leaving for military services, whereas a couple of them are just taking their sweet honey time reviewing script offers. Meanwhile a few are busy with fan meetings. Damn those fan meet tours. And the good shows are coming to an end one week after another. Aish. Not happy. Not happy at all.
Snap! Here are our 53th Baeksang Art Award winners.
Frankly, it was the most boring Baeksang I had seen. I get bored from time to time watching these award shows because of the language barrier; however, this year’s Baeksang was boredom on a whole new level. It began at the red carpet where not one single star *wow* the floor. The dresses were all a big MEH.
I was contemplating of quitting the live streaming if it were not of Park Bo Gum with his little *BLUR* but cute stunt, and later the three crabs moves. After this, the show did get a little bit more interesting since it was time to announce the Best Actor and Actress awards.
The vicious cycle starts again with 53th Baeksang Art Awards as they recently release the nomination lists. Almost every year I go on a rampage at the results for South Korea’s Award Shows, but I can’t ignore because I am a sucker for seeing stars dressing up prettily on the red carpet. I love seeing biases or drama couples I adore reunite and appear together for their nominated projects. This year’s Baeksang is as highly anticipated as 2014’s when I was infatuated with You Who Came From the Star.
Let’s take a look at the nominees for this year. I have chosen my winners in light blue, hehe.
Catch Jo Jung Suk in the January 2017 issue for Esquire if you are a big fan of his. Jo Jung Suk has a great and productive year of 2016. tvN’s Oh My Ghost were well received and landed him a male lead role for a Wednesday – Thursday drama on SBS, starring against Gong Hyo Jin in Jealousy Incarnate. His movie, Hyung, were doing exceptionally well at the box office. He also reprised his role in Hedwig, the musical. Then he manages to become a scene stealer by making a special appearance as a Merman on land in The Legend of the Blue Sea.
Indeed a wonderful year for Jo Jung Suk.
Saw a few dramas I enjoyed and a few I didn’t, so I just want to spazz about the good ones, as well as rant a little of the bad.
Jealousy Incarnate starring Jo Jung Suk, Gong Hyo Jin and Go Kyung Pyo are doing a good job keeping me intrigue. The second teaser definitely catches my full attention with the classical music as BGM, and the comedic presentation of the characters.
Updated 2016.08.06: Added preview teaser 1
I am beginning to think SBS is at a huge disadvantage with Jealousy Incarnate coming in so late in the game with W: Two Worlds being so mind-bogglingly damn entertaining, and Uncontrollably Fond‘s angsty being ahjumma’s favourite side dishes every week.
Hurrayyyy~ Chefunim is coming back! Will you look at that chest hidden behind the white shirt. ❤ And are we ready for more jealous Jo Jung Suk (Oh! My Ghostess) in SBS upcoming drama, Jealousy Incarnate? I know I am; he was so cute being all jealous the last time his boys are all over his girl.
