Park Seo Joon and Park Hyung Sik — The Hwarang Brotherhood for Vogue

Three months late in posting this, but nothing is ever late when it comes to swooning. After working alongside each other filming Hwarang, Park Seo Joon (She Was Pretty) and Park Hyung Sik (High Society) were invited to model for Vogue Korea‘s November issue in 2016.

The down side of collecting so many biases is the inability to stay on top of everything about them. At times I wish I could be a full-time blogger where I could earn a living by just ‘swooning’ at these boys. Alas, that day would never come. Therefore, the best I could do is occasionally post about them either when I feel inspired or I am in the mood to spaz/drool at some lovely photoshoots.

Neither Seo Joon or Hyung Sik are new to my bias list. I haven’t posted about Hyung Sik as much, but he had been on my radar since he played cheeky Myung Soo in Heirs. I had high hopes when Hwarang was announced, but was really disappointed when the show didn’t deliver. I was extremely upset that Seo Joon was not given a more compelling character to play as the male lead. Hyung Sik’s character was just as meh most of the time, but what did capture my attention was his eyes. Him, using his beautiful eyes to emote. I love it, and I enjoyed it even more of it now that I am watching him in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.

It’s mostly the script and execution that pull this show down, along with the lack of charm and acting chops from Go Ara. Plus the romance was so badly written that I don’t feel invested or convinced with Sun Woo and Aro’s feelings for one another. Sigh. However, I don’t regret watching Hwarang since the boys did all they could to entertain and capture viewers’ attention.
