Uri Chefunim, Jo Jung Suk, is returning to theatre next year, for the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which he has previously been involved several times before. The musical performance will begin some time in March, 2016. He has been playing the role of Hedwig from 2006-2011, so most likely he will reprise the role again next year.

It would be the perfect chance to watch him perform as a musical actor for those who has travel plans to South Korea around that time. Jo Jung Suk is an excellent musical performer, which I am sure everyone knows by now. However, be warned that Hedwig is a production whereby Jo Jung Suk will dress up as a woman (looking like a drag queen to be exact)—don’t be too shocked when seeing him as a drag queen on stage, LOL.

Next year’s production is also joined by well-known actors such as Jo Seung Woo (God’s Gift—14 Days) and Byun Yo Han (Misaeng, Six Flying Dragons). Byun Yo Han appearing in Hedwig is surprising; I had no idea he could sing, or is into musical acting. He’s very generous when it comes to updating SNS, so I hope we will see some awesome backstage photos of him with the Hedwig casts.

Now here’s a preview of Jo Jung Suk performing on stage as Hedwig:

But my personal favourite is when he sang a song named ‘Saranghaessjiman‘ (사랑했지만) from the musical, The Days.

I have heard a fair few versions of the same song by various actors including Jo Seung Woo, Joo Won, Ji Chang Wook and Seo In Guk, but I think Jo Jung Suk cream them all with his powerful voice. ❤
